On a summer evening in 2011, the life of Charles James Walker, a 47-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short on a street in Boston. The fatal encounter occurred on June 20, 2011, at 826 Blue Hill Avenue. Walker was shot and, despite the response from the Boston Police Department, he was pronounced deceased. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner would later confirm that his death was a homicide.
