Edward Patoon Riley, a 20-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on October 18, 2011, in Chicago, IL. The incident occurred at the Parkway Gardens apartments near 65th and King Drive around 8 p.m. Riley was shot by two men who opened fire on him and a 15-year-old boy, who was also injured in the attack. The gunfire caused another man to suffer an asthma attack. Despite the severity of the incident, police did not have a motive or suspect immediately following the shooting.
