Marlon 'DOC' Monroe, a 21-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on April 28, 2012, in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Monroe was born on March 13, 1989, and was known for his aspirations to become a carpenter. He was a beloved member of his community, having attended Englewood High School and participated in activities at the Woodlawn Union Baptist Church, where he served on the junior usher board.
