Shon Long, a 60-year-old African American male, was a well-known concert and club promoter in Chicago, Illinois. On July 14, 2014, he was found dead inside his travel office located at 93rd and Ashland. The police were called to the scene where they discovered that Shon Long had been shot in the head. His death was a significant loss to the community, as he was known for arranging trips to music festivals and other events across the country, and was considered a pillar of the community.
