On the evening of March 24, 2025, 13-year-old African American boy Tawon Tribble was fatally shot inside a residence in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. The incident occurred around 6:54 p.m. in the 500 block of West 65th Place. Tawon was struck in the chest by a discharged firearm and was transported to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his identity and ruled his death a homicide.
