Fitz Robert, a 39-year-old Black man, was shot on the porch of a residence at 131 Harold Street in Roxbury late on December 28, 2012. Patrol officers reported hearing gunfire near Harold and Harrishof streets and, on arrival, found him gravely wounded; he was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The shooting capped a violent year in Boston and added another loss to a neighborhood long shadowed by recurring bursts of street violence.
