Kaylyn Whitaker, a 20-year-old white female, was found dead from a gunshot wound on October 31, 2014, in Martinsville, Illinois. Initially, her death was ruled a suicide based on the scene where her boyfriend, Connor Scott, claimed she had shot herself. However, forensic experts later doubted this conclusion due to the location of the bullet wound. Ten months after her death, the case was reclassified as a homicide.
