Keon Kelly, a 30-year-old African American man from Joliet, Illinois, tragically lost his life on December 2, 2014. Kelly was one of two victims in a fatal shooting that occurred in a driveway on Strong Avenue in Joliet. The other victim was 17-year-old Tariq Purnell, also from Joliet. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m., and both victims were ambushed while standing outside. Kelly was transported to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
