Youman McKenzie, a 23-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on December 22, 2014, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 2:20 a.m., in the 500 block of South Central Park Avenue in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. McKenzie sustained gunshot wounds to his shoulder and left thigh. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he succumbed to his injuries.
