Sydney Caldwell, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on July 26, 2017, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. According to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Caldwell was fatally shot while sitting in his car, parked in an alley off the 4700 block of West Maypole. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when Demarcus Simmons, a 20-year-old male, approached Caldwell's vehicle and fired multiple shots at close range into the driver's side. Caldwell ...
