Corey Mc Claurin

Corey McClaurin, a 17-year-old resident of Chicago, was shot and killed on September 19, 2009. The incident took place in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. Corey was walking in the area when he was attacked, becoming one of the many young lives lost to gun violence in Chicago during that year. Auburn Gresham, like other areas in the city, was experiencing frequent violence, with shootings and gang activity contributing to an environment of constant danger.
