On January 14, 2015, Terrence Harris, a 24-year-old African American man, was fatally shot in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood. At approximately 5:52 p.m., Harris was walking through a gangway in the 8100 block of South Artesian Avenue when he was approached by two individuals.
