Christopher A. Kearns, a 37-year-old male from Rockford, Illinois, was found dead on January 25, 2015. He was discovered slumped over the wheel of a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head in the 1700 block of 17th Street. The tragic incident occurred amidst a spike in gun violence in Rockford, which police attributed to feuding gangs. However, authorities found no evidence linking Kearns' death to gang activity.
