Amy Smith Blaise, a 43-year-old middle school teacher from Marion, Illinois, tragically lost her life on January 30, 2015. She was found dead at her family home with a single gunshot wound. The incident was part of an apparent murder-suicide carried out by her husband, Dan Blaise, who was 42 years old. Dan Blaise also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The couple's tragic deaths were discovered late on Friday night, and they were pronounced dead early Saturday morning.
