Death by Force

Martarese Gentry, a 15-year-old African American boy, was fatally shot on June 16, 2015, in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood. The incident occurred while he was watching a fight between two girls. A man approached the scene and began shooting, hitting Martarese in the chest and stomach. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:12 p.m. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed his identity and the cause of death.
