Amari Brown, a 7-year-old African American boy, was tragically killed on July 4, 2015, in Chicago, IL. Amari was struck in the chest during a drive-by shooting around midnight while watching fireworks in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of North Harding, where Amari was an unintended victim of a gang-related conflict. His father, Antonio Brown, who was a known gang member, was believed to be the intended target of the shooting.
