A Latina woman, Blanca A. Winters, 50, died on August 5, 2015, after she was shot in west suburban Maywood. She was pronounced dead at 11:58 a.m. that Tuesday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood; an autopsy later determined she died from complications of multiple gunshot wounds.
Records listed her home address in the 1200 block of East Wilson Street in Batavia, underscoring the distance between where she lived and where violence found her.
