David M. Kelly, a 22-year-old male, was tragically gunned down on Englewood Avenue in Joliet, Illinois, on September 13, 2015. He was found dead inside a car shortly before 6 a.m. on that fateful Sunday. Kelly's death marked the second fatal shooting in the same area within a span of three and a half weeks. The incident occurred in a neighborhood that had recently witnessed a surge in violent crimes, with multiple shootings reported in the vicinity.
