On September 27, 2015, Quinton D. Goins, a 25-year-old male, was fatally shot in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Roosevelt Road. Goins was inside a vehicle when another car drove by, leading to an exchange of gunfire between occupants of both vehicles. He sustained gunshot wounds to his back and shoulder and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:42 p.m.
