Death by Force

On August 8, 2016, Anthony Hatchett, a 44-year-old African American man from Chicago, Illinois, was fatally shot in the head while standing on the sidewalk in the 9400-block of South LaSalle Street in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side. The incident occurred at approximately 11:17 p.m. Hatchett was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 12:11 a.m. the following day. He resided in the 10600 block of South Parnell Avenue.
