DaMarcus Roberts, a 20-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life in the early hours of August 24, 2016, in Flossmoor, Illinois. Roberts was shot multiple times as he walked back from a convenience store near the corner of 189th Street and Springfield Avenue, close to his home. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn the following morning.
