Lanair Jones-Sullivan, a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on September 27, 2016, in Rockford, Illinois. The incident occurred at the Blackhawk Public Housing complex, specifically in the 1400 block of Birch Court. According to reports, Jones-Sullivan was standing outside when a car drove by, and shots were fired. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including to the head and torso, and was pronounced dead at Rockford Memorial Hospital later that night.
