Khan Butler, a 31-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on October 22, 2016, in the South Chicago neighborhood. The incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. while Butler was a passenger in a van driving on South Houston Avenue. An assailant on foot fired several shots at the vehicle, striking Butler. Despite his critical injuries, Butler managed to reach Advocate Trinity Hospital on his own. He was later transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead ...
