Khan Butler, a 31-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on October 22, 2016, in the South Chicago neighborhood. The incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. while Butler was a passenger in a van driving on South Houston Avenue. An assailant on foot fired several shots at the vehicle, striking Butler.
