Lavontay White Jr., a 2-year-old African American boy, tragically lost his life on February 14, 2017, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the North Lawndale neighborhood when Lavontay was in a car with his 26-year-old uncle, Lazarec Collins, and a 20-year-old pregnant woman, who was Lavontay's aunt.
