Byron Edingburg, a 23-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 22, 2017, in Charleston, Illinois. Byron was a student at Eastern Illinois University and was shot while attempting to break up a fight at a large house party on 7th Street. The incident occurred in the backyard of the residence, where Byron was fatally shot. The shooting also resulted in injuries to another individual, 20-year-old Akeem Williams, who was later released from the hospital.
