Jacobie Lee James, a 19-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on May 10, 2017, in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side of Chicago. At approximately 2:47 p.m., James was in the 3800 block of West Ogden Avenue when a black vehicle approached. Two individuals exited the vehicle and opened fire, striking James in the head and chest.
