DaShawn Martin, a 15-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on June 27, 2017, while in the backyard of a home in the 1000 block of West 103rd Place in Chicago. The incident occurred in the Far South Side of Chicago, and his death was a significant loss to his family and community. Mourners gathered at his funeral service at Prayer and Faith Outreach Ministries on July 1, 2017, to pay their respects and remember the young life that was tragically cut short.
