Hamza Hammouis, a 25-year-old male of French and Moroccan descent, tragically lost his life on August 14, 2017, in Evanston, Illinois. Hammouis had recently moved to the United States from Paris and was a newlywed, having married Jennifer Hess just two months prior. On the night of his death, Hammouis, his wife, and one of his sisters were out taking early-morning photos when they encountered a man on Howard Street. This encounter led to a fatal altercation.
