The incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. when officers responded to a call of shots fired and found Murray lying on the ground in the 6400 block of South Calumet Avenue. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m.
