Emergency crews responded to reports of a shooting and attempted life-saving measures upon arrival, but unfortunately, Walls was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:16 p.m. An autopsy conducted the following day confirmed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide. Walls resided in the South Side Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.
