Martez Mayo, a 20-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on January 31, 2018, in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred during an exchange of gunfire, which left one other individual injured. Mayo was pronounced dead at the scene due to a gunshot wound to the head.
