Deeshane Grayer, a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on June 17, 2018, in the North Austin neighborhood of Chicago, IL. Grayer was standing on the sidewalk around 11:30 a.m. when he was approached by Tarvey Green, a 20-year-old male, who emerged from an alley and shot Grayer multiple times with a .45-caliber handgun.
Grayer was struck in the chest, thigh, and buttocks, and was pronounced dead at the scene less than an hour later.
Following the incident, Tarvey Green was identified as the shooter by two separate witnesses and was subsequently arrested.
