David Sloan, a 34-year-old white male from Mount Vernon, Illinois, tragically lost his life on July 4, 2018. The incident occurred after a day of heavy drinking and a physical altercation with his brother, Matthew Sloan. According to court records, the brothers had been drinking throughout the day and eventually ended up at Matthew's rural Mount Vernon home.
