Kevon L. Sturkey, a 24-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on July 31, 2018, in Maywood, Illinois. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of South 1st Avenue. Sturkey, who resided in the west suburb, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. He was pronounced dead at 6:56 p.m. that evening.
