Fred Jackson, a 28-year-old African American man from Chicago, Illinois, was found shot to death on October 2, 2018. His body was discovered lying face down in a parking lot in the 7800 block of South Western Avenue, on the border of the Gresham and Wrightwood neighborhoods. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn later that afternoon.
