Brandon Sutka, a 26-year-old male from Chicago, IL, was tragically killed on November 15, 2018, in a domestic-related shooting in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood. The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the 10700 block of South Central Park Avenue. According to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Sutka was involved in a physical altercation when someone pulled out a gun and shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:12 p.m.
An autopsy conducted the following day revealed that Sutka died from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder, and his death was ruled a homicide.
The shooter, whose identity has not been disclosed, was taken into custody but later released after investigators determined that they acted in self-defense.
