On the evening of January 11, 2019, Calvin Lewis, a 35-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in Chicago's West Garfield Park neighborhood. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. in the 100 block of South Kildare Avenue. A black car approached Calvin Lewis and another 35-year-old man, and an individual inside the vehicle opened fire. Calvin Lewis sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and neck and was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other man was str ...
