Joel Bentley, a 30-year-old man from Chicago, IL, tragically lost his life on July 5, 2014. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 1 a.m., in the parking lot of a Walgreens located in the 6200 block of South Austin Avenue. Bentley, who was of Caucasian ethnicity, was discovered with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Despite being rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
