John Rivera, a 23-year-old off-duty Chicago police officer, was tragically shot and killed on March 23, 2019, in Chicago, Illinois. Rivera, who was of Hispanic descent, had been with the Chicago Police Department for less than two years. On the night of his death, Rivera and his friends were returning to his parked car in the 700 block of North Clark Street after spending time at a nearby establishment.
