Jakias Holman, a 26-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on March 27, 2019, in Joliet, Illinois. Holman was fatally shot while sitting behind the wheel of his car in the 1000 block of Magnolia Avenue, located in Joliet's Forest Park area. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m., and despite efforts by the Joliet Fire Department to revive him, Holman was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner's office confirmed that Holman had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
