Rakeem Burris, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on April 23, 2019, in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the 200 block of West 57th Street, near Sherwood Elementary School. Burris was sitting in a parked vehicle when an unknown assailant opened fire, resulting in his death. Another individual in the vehicle was also wounded in the shooting.
