He was born on April 24, 1983, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, and was the son of Christopher Szurgot and Tammy DeBevec. Jonathan was a father to two children, Isabelle and Jakob Szurgot, and had a close-knit family including his sisters Kourtney Szurgot and Ariel Montalvo, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
