Deputy Troy Chisum, a 39-year-old white male, was tragically killed in the line of duty on June 25, 2019, in Avon, Illinois. Deputy Chisum was responding to a disturbance call in the 5200 block of East Troy Road when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 2:00 PM, and the suspect, Nathan Woodring, a 42-year-old man from Avon, barricaded himself inside a home following the shooting.
