Jessie L. Curry, a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on July 14, 2019, in Chicago, IL. Jessie was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head in an alley located in the 800 block of North LeClaire Avenue. The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m., and Jessie was subsequently taken to West Suburban Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Jessie resided in the Homan Square neighborhood.
The circumstances surrounding Jessie's death were particularly alarming. State Representative La Shawn Ford reported that his vehicle was struck by bullets during the incident, highlighting the pervasive violence in the area. Additionally, a bullet entered a nearby family's home, lodging itself in the armrest of a love seat. This incident underscored the urgent need for more aggressive measures to protect residents and curb violence on the West Side of Chicago.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Jessie's murder. The investigation is being handled by Area North detectives, who are diligently working to uncover the circumstances of the shooting. Despite the ongoing efforts, the case remains unsolved, and no suspects have been identified.
