On the morning of May 13, 2015, 86-year-old African American man Charlie Fuller was attacked outside his home in Birmingham, Alabama, while feeding his dogs. A neighbor, noticing one of Fuller's dogs had escaped, found Fuller lying in his garage with a severe head injury. He was transported to UAB Hospital in critical condition.
