Charlie Fuller, an 86-year-old Black man from Birmingham, Alabama, was gravely injured after a brutal attack outside his home on Carver Avenue on the morning of May 13, 2015, and he died from those injuries at UAB Hospital on May 25, 2015. The accounts that emerged in the days after the assault painted a painfully ordinary beginning to the morning.
