Jamari Shade, a 21-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on October 22, 2019, in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. in the 5700 block of West Augusta Boulevard. According to police reports, a light-colored Mercedes SUV approached Shade, and two individuals inside the vehicle opened fire, striking him in the chest.
