Makei Smith, a 17-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on November 21, 2019, in the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. in the backyard of a residence located in the 1300 block of South Lawndale Avenue. According to reports, Makei Smith was struck by gunfire in the hip and chest.
