On January 4, 2020, in East St. Louis, Illinois, 34-year-old Cara D. Young was fatally shot while seated in the driver's seat of a vehicle. The incident occurred around 7:48 p.m. in the 2500 block of Henrietta Avenue, near State Street and North 25th Street. A male passenger in the vehicle was also shot and transported to a hospital for treatment. The St. Clair County coroner identified the deceased as Cara D. Young.
