James Primer, a 29-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on May 16, 2020, in a drive-by shooting in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 3:05 p.m. while Primer was standing on the corner of the 8300 block of South Ingleside Avenue. A silver vehicle approached, and someone inside the car opened fire, striking Primer in the chest.
