On May 31, 2020, 25-year-old Tyrel D. Clark was fatally shot in the early morning hours on the 1200 block of North Mason Avenue in Chicago's Austin neighborhood on the West Side. Tyrel, an African American male, was among several individuals who lost their lives to gun violence in Chicago on that date.
